In other news, I was lucky enough to be one of the givers for World Book Night. For those people who haven't heard of it, it started this year and has been a giant giveaway of a million free books with the intention of encouraging people to read and getting them passionate about it. I didn't get the choice of book I wanted but I did get Killing Floor by Lee Child. I have 48 copies to give away so if you are in my vicinity and fancy a free book then let me know!

I've not had chance to start reading yet as I've just started reading Living Dolls - The Return of Sexism by Natasha Walter. Finished reading The Lovely Bones last week and I have to admit that I found it hard to put down. The book was heart wrenching in points and so well written that as soon as I picked it up, I forgot where I was or whether I had missed my bus stop! Would recommend that book to anyone (although perhaps not youngsters as it does deal with some very tricky topics). Once you get past the first chapter you will be hooked.
I think World Book Night is such a good idea! As a total English geek and lover of books, obviously I will think that, but there's definitely nothing wrong in trying to educate people in reading, especially when it's a cheap activity, it expands your mind and it makes you consider things you might not otherwise have thought of.
