LISTENING TO #8

Into Dust

Beautiful.

Thought you might agree. They're both pieces from one of my favourite jewellery stores. I'm also lucky enough to own both of them and will be showing them off all christmas with a big smile on my face! Love the delicacy of the snowflake bracelet; it'll sparkle beautifully in the winter light.

I guess I better let the secret out... they're from Azendi and if you haven't heard of them before, then it's time to get some research in just in time for Christmas! I don't know a girl that wouldn't want you to pay a visit there for them.

I'm a big fan of the collections on the site, here are a few snippets:

Charmist - Collect gorgeous charms to create an individual bracelet. I love this topaz one!

Ice Berry - Simple and understated ♥

Triwa watches - Violet dandy to add a bit of colour to your life!

Pretty things make me ever so happy!

My computer Christmas countdown (yes, I have one) is telling me that it's nine days to Christmas. Nine days! How did it arrive so quickly?

Things I am looking forward to:

  • Seeing friends and family for catch ups and christmas hugs
  • A giant Christmas dinner with all the trimmings
  • Finishing my advent calendar
  • Chilling out with a good book and getting some well deserved rest
Plenty of reading to do over Christmas, mostly for teaching but some for pleasure. Have a look see:

Must be my fifth time of reading it but I love it! Hopefully so will the kids I get to teach it to...

Another school related book but will enjoy reading it again and making tons of notes. Yes, I love notes. Genuinely.

So many people have recommended it. One for the Christmas list!

Love Haruki Murakami so will be trying to track down as many of his books as I can.

And on a final note...

FASHION FIX #8

It's pretty obvious what I'm going to write about... snow. However, I'm going to be true to myself and put a fashion twist on things. I wonder if a day goes by when I don't think about fashion? No, don't think so...

My beautiful, expensive leather boots from Schuh have been sidelined for a much more practical but warm option. Fake uggs. The thought of falling over in the snow in front of people was too much to even think about!

I'm still using public transport at the moment until I get a lovely car so I have plenty of time to people watch. I LOVE people watching. When I was still struggling across icy plains in my Schuh boots I was very envious of people in warm looking shoes who didn't appear to be walking like a penguin.

There are three type of shoes I've been seeing around. Which category do you fit?

The welly girl

Either worn country style with a green mac or with giant christmas cardigan and leggings.

The ugg girl

Lovely cosy feet in the fur!

Ankle Boots
Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of these shoes but plenty of girls make them look good. I've seen them worn with tights, a skirt and a big furry coat. Pom pom hats normally worn as standard too.

Serious shoe envy recently; already looking forward to the January sales! Here are a few things I love right now:

River Island

Alexa Chung style - Boohoo.com
Zara - Love this!

Warehouse

Got to refrain from shopping so I can save up and raid those sales! While other people might be going away for Christmas, I will use some retail therapy to cheer me up.

Ho ho ho

LISTENING TO #7

Everyone seems wrapped up in X Factor at the moment. Most people have something to say, whether it's good or bad. Everyone has an opinion, even if it's just a comment on Simon Cowell or Cheryl Cole.

Cher - I've not been very sure about her act, especially the rapping, but I've been interested in what she's been wearing each week. Even though I would never wear it, I think she's setting a trend and I've definitely seen a few Cher-a-likes walking around town. She seems to have had her image toned down recently and it's definitely made me warm to her more. She looks better with less make up and just her voice on show.

My favourite performance so far.

I'm not a Wagner fan but I do feel sorry for him because he's clearly being exploited and it's gone a bit too far now!
I love Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson and really hope one of them wins. They both have true talent and I always love when they don't have tons of confidence because you can relate to them a little bit more. Rebecca is also turning into a bit of a fashion icon. I absolutely adore the polished look; perfect hair, eyelashes, nails and THAT voice.

Cheryl is still the true star!

A few of my favourite tunes at the moment...

Here's a screen shot from Sunday Girl -Stop Hey.
I want that dress! ♥

Reflections

I know it's only November but I'm thinking about the year that has just passed and how different I feel now compared to this time last year. Back then, I was loved up with a boyfriend, in the middle of teacher training, living in a tiny flat with rubbish flatmates and generally a little bit muddled. Fast forward to this year and I'm single (but happier), got a job working at a really good school, living in a nice house, nearly able to drive and just generally feeling better in myself. This has been one of the hardest years of my life so far in terms of stress and uncertainty but I've reached the end of the year feeling better about it all and like things are on the up!

Here is a mini montage of 2009:

I feel like a different person compared to that.

A few things I've got up to this year alongside pictures might go some way to showing what it's been like.
