Wish upon a star.

The Perseid Meteor shower may have been and gone but I'm still thinking about stars. I didn't manage to see the meteors myself but reassured myself with the knowledge that pictures would capture it beautifully.
I wasn't wrong.

If I had seen the meteor I'm not even sure what I would wish for. I can confidently say I'm pretty happy with my lot at the moment. It's not perfect, but it's far from shoddy and I can't complain. I love what stars represent. Hopes, dreams, ambitions. It fits perfectly with my romanticised view of the world.

All this talk of stars got me thinking about my own hopes and ambitions. What do I want to achieve?

Not only have I heard lots about stars, but cosmic ordering has been floating around my head for a while and I'm intrigued by the whole idea of it. While I might not 'believe' it works per se, I do think that if you make your goals clear then you have to follow them and therefore, you will try harder to achieve them.

Cosmic Ordering has 7 principles. These are:
  1. Decide what you want
  2. Make your orders positive (no negativity!)
  3. Order in the way that works for you (you don't have to  pray or write silly messages*)
  4. Trust the process (beliiiiieve)
  5. Trust your inner wisdom
  6. You deserve it
  7. Acknowledge your successes (be grateful)

They sound simple enough... I'm always grateful, I believe good things should happen to good people and I think that if you want something enough, you will make it happen.

If it works for Noel then it might work for me!

*Silly message mentioned earlier: Noel scribbles a symbol of his desired object somewhere 'discreet'.

The only thing left for me to do is think...

what do I want?

Walt is to blame.

When I was younger I used to love The Little Mermaid. It's so cheesy but I totally blame it for my romantic expectations. It took me a while to realise the world isn't like that!

Here's a particularly cute clip from The Little Mermaid. It's one of my favourite moments ♥

The fireflies, the little boat, the loved up eyes, the lagoon, the shy guy and the singing animals. Perhaps it might be overwhelmingly cute and cheesy but I love it!

Sometimes I wish life was simple but colourful like a Disney movie.

LISTENING TO #4

“A grown-up is a child with layers on.” Woody Barrelson

I have to remind myself sometimes that change is good. Growing up means I'm advancing and getting better at things (hopefully). As soon as I sit still and think, I freak myself out about all these responsibilites and new things that are happening.

I've got the job I wanted, a new house to move into, a new car to start thinking about, a new single life I am totally not used to and plenty of old memories to erase. Maybe not erase, but push away for a while. This growing up malarky is pretty scary when I think about it. It all seems to have happened so quickly and I haven't had time to catch up with it yet!

Let the whirlwind begin.

LISTENING TO AND STYLE CRUSH

No television series aimed at young people is complete without a soundtrack full of attitude and Gossip Girl is no exception. Here are a few tracks from the show before I hit you with the fashion:

Another reason I love Gossip Girl is the fashion. Alongside the storylines, the beautiful characters and the music; it is the fashion that keeps people watching to see what they will wear next. Each character has a different type of style to fit their personality and I've enjoyed seeing their clothes change across the series.

Blake Lively is just as stylish off screen as she is when playing Serena (above). Her character is a hopeless romantic who never knows what she wants. I can definitely sympathise with that! Blake's red carpet style is all about the glamour. With a body like that who can argue?!

Blake will be playing a very different character in upcoming film 'The Town' and I'm already excited to see the film. Not only does it look great but it will be interesting to see if I can watch her in something else without associating her with Gossip Girl.

Trailer is here!

So I'll finish this blog with a picture that encapsulates a few of my favourite things.

Ice cream, friendship and cute clothes.
